The Times Square Peace Campaign 2026

The Korean American Peace Fund (KAPF) and the Korea Peace Action are proud to launch the 3rd Times Square Peace Campaign in 2026.

This year’s campaign expands beyond our longstanding call to formally end the Korean War and establish lasting peace on the Korean Peninsula. It embraces a broader global message: “No War Everywhere.” At a time when armed conflicts continue to devastate communities around the world, we call on people everywhere to reject war and choose peace.

Today, we are witnessing the devastating human cost of war. The conflicts in Gaza, Ukraine, and the military confrontation involving Iran have claimed an estimated more than 500,000 lives. At the same time, an estimated $700–900 billion has been spent on military operations—resources that could instead have been invested in improving people’s lives, advancing human development, and building a more peaceful and secure future.

Through this campaign in New York’s Times Square, one of the world’s busiest public spaces, we seek to share a simple but urgent message with people from around the globe: choose dialogue over violence, diplomacy over war, and peaceful solutions over armed conflict.

The promotional videos from our first and second Times Square Peace Campaigns have reached more than 400,000 viewers. With this third campaign, we aim to bring our message of peace to an additional 200,000 people.

In addition, the campaign video and its message will be delivered directly to the offices of all 435 members of the U.S. House of Representatives, all 100 members of the U.S. Senate, and all 300 members of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea. By engaging policymakers directly, we hope to strengthen support for peace on the Korean Peninsula, encourage efforts to end war, and inspire meaningful action toward diplomacy and reconciliation.

The Korean American Peace Fund and the Korea Peace Action remain committed to working with people of conscience to advance a permanent peace agreement for the Korean Peninsula, build sustainable peace, and advocate for an end to wars everywhere.

Let’s Support the Peace on the Korean Peninsula Act

  1. Directs the U.S. State Department to review and possibly revise current restrictions on travel to North Korea.

  2. Formally calls for an end to the Korean War by urging Congress and the Administration to pursue a peace treaty between the U.S., South Korea, and North Korea.

  3. Seeks to re-open humanitarian engagement and facilitate reunions for divided families, leveraging a formal peace declaration to improve conditions.
